Many people in life including the corporate sector live with anxiety on a daily basis. You may feel like you can’t talk about it, and that you have to live with it on your own, but I am here to help you bring these difficult emotions out into the open and and explore them in your own time and in your own way. Only by engaging with your anxiety – examining where it comes from and its triggers – can you truly allow yourself to move to a place of greater peace and confidence in yourself. You may be surprised how much better you can feel after you have had the opportunity to share your current challenges.
You may feel like you are powerless over your addiction. Clients often say I just cannot stop and it’s like a voice in my head telling me to do more. Whether it’s alcohol, drugs, gambling, social media, or anything else. It is common for people to beat themselves up about their addiction, but remember that addiction is never a choice, and always a natural response to stress and other factors. In a way that’s personalised to you, we will, in a compassionate and curious way, and at your own pace, explore the “why” behind your addiction and work towards a place where you don’t need to keep resorting to certain maladaptive behaviours as a way of making yourself feel better.
If you are living with constant low moods or depression, you might believe that life will never improve – that you’ll always feel this way. Low moods and depression is something that builds up over time and only gets worse the longer you ignore it. Taking that first step to work through your depression isn’t easy, but doing so is such an important part of getting to a better place. My practice gives you a safe space to go on this journey, with me guiding you every step of the way.
My practice gives you a private, non-judgemental space to discuss the reasons behind your self-harm, taking time to examine the emotions associated with this behaviour and learning what brings you to this place. I know that talking about this subject is difficult, but hiding away from the problem only makes it worse with repetitive patterns and feelings of huge anxiety. This is your time to work through this issue safely and at your pace.
You should never feel like you have to cope with a loss on your own. You may feel that you need to deal with it by not involving others or just shut those sad feelings down for another day. Grief is a complicated, deeply personal process, and it is important to recognise that there is no right way to grieve and there is no set time. You may be feeling anger, sadness, frustration, denial, confusion, or nothing at all. Whatever your emotions may be, I will work closely with you as you process them in a safe, strictly confidential space.
Relationships are extremely complex, and I help both individuals and couples work through relationship issues of all kinds. Both partners can talk in confidence, assessing what has gone wrong in the relationship and how to change things for the better. It can help couples to learn more about each other’s needs and communicate with each other better. This could include conflicts in your workspace, problems in your family, or coping with a separation from a partner, infidelity, moving in together, planning a family, taking on stepchildren and retirement. I also have experience of working with the LGBTQ+ community. No matter what problem you may be going through, we can jointly work together, and explore how best to support your unique set of circumstances.
Low self-esteem is a widespread problem for people generally in today’s life with high expectations being placed on people influenced through social media and peer groups. Even people who are successful and lead seemingly good lives often feel like they aren’t good enough. This is because we base our values around external things, such as how much money we make or our relationships with others, which ultimately may make us feel inadequate in some way. By working together I can give you a positive, friendly environment where you can feel empowered again and support you in reclaiming your own innate self-worth.
I have particular expertise in Diabetes and its associated challenges, such as denial, fear, anger, or depression. As someone who has been a Type 1 Diabetic for 50 years, I know precisely how it feels to live with these problems, and I am here to help anyone struggling with this element of their life – from early onset Diabetes through to later diagnosis and Type 2 Diabetes which has its own set of individual challenges . I also provide dedicated support to family members and partners of those living with Diabetes.
